Judge Van Exel's comments: I think we have a tremendous group of heifers here today, but even more so, we have a tremendous group of kids. It's been a tough competition for them today. We're at a national show that has had national caliber competition. I pulled out three calves that exemplify what I'm looking for in a junior champion.

Today, I'm choosing my winning intermediate calf for Junior Champion. What silky quality she has! She's a dairy heifer from end to end. For Reserve Junior Champion, it's a closer call, but I'm going with the second place intermediate calf. She's a little cleaner about the head and neck to go above the winning fall calf that I pulled out.
