Judge Van Exel's comments:
I'm sure there's a lot of favorites out here for different people, because there's a tremendous group in front of us and many of which will likely be on "the page" a few months from now. But I pulled out four heifers I like, the fall calf, summer yearling, junior yearling and fall yearling. In my mind, the most quality is in that spring yearling. She caught my eye when she came into the ring the first time. She really excels over the rest in quality. When you watch her, she has so much style and balance and a beautiful rib. In a close placing for reserve, I'm going with the fall yearling, another big, quality heifer with plenty of substance of bone. For honorable mention, I'm going with that fall calf, a calf I really like because of her openness when viewed from the side and she's got so much width throughout.
