"I guess we have everyone's attention now. It has been an extreme honor and privilege to be invited here today to do this. At this time I'd like to take a bit of time to thank those who invited Chris and I to be here. I'd like to thank Holstein Association. Without their due diligence we would not be here and we thank them for their organization. And thank you to the Royal Dairy Committee. Their organization is wondering and keep the show running smooth. It can be hectic in the barns so I'd like to thank the barn superintendents. To the greatest ringman in the world, Murray Reisner. He's been great to work for. I'd like to thank Valerie for translating for me today - it can't be the easiest folowing my words.
And now the exhibitors and breeders. Most people don't realize the money and effort that starts in the spring like I do. Your cows have been presented at exceptionally. Chris and I both appreciate all the extra work in the barn and at home. Thank you.
At this time I'd like to thank Chris. We've worked together a long time. We've gotten the chance to work with a lot of good cattle. We have had good days and bad times, but we've been together. I'd like to thank you, Chris.
Special thanks to my family. My brothers and sisters and their families. And especially my mother. If not for them I would not be in this great business.
And now I'll pick your Grand, Reserve and Honorable Mention Champion."
Left standing for consideration: Int. Champion, 1st 4-Year-Old, 1st Mature Cow, 1st Longtime Production
"Not taking anything away from Reserve and Honorable Mention, but this cow for Grand Champion...she's got such height and width to her rear udder with perfect teat placement and a more level floor of her mammary today than this beautiful old cow. Most people that know me know that I like old cows. She has the advantage today as she is so mobile, tracks better on rear feet and legs than this beautiful cow for Honorable Mention. Thank you."
