Honorable Mention- Dyks Kite Linda-Red-ET (Markwell Kite)Whittier Farms, Todd Whittier, Sutton, MA
"It's been a pleasure - what a great show! We have out here four cows for consideration of Senior Champion. I pulled the two 4-year-olds, they were close in class, each with strong attributes. I pulled out the 5-year-old - what a milk, milk production cow with a tremendous mammary system and that great dairy strength. And the aged cow who walks around with such balance and dairyness. I admire how she puts all her parts together.
At this time, we need to select a Senior Champion. I like cows...obviously. And those who know me know that I'm a sucker for a good udder. And one cow that has an awesome udder is this 4-year-old. She will be our Senior Champion today. For reserve, it's a little closer, but I called them close in class and I still think they're close. Our second 4-year-old will be reserve today, and honorable mention will be this great mature cow.
As I mentioned in class, this white 4-year-old wows you with her style. She's got a tremendous mammary system and I give her the advantage in the way she moves on her hind legs. I do admire the dairyness and strength of the second 4-year-old. She's slightly more level on the udder floor, and higher and wider at the top of the rear, also showing a more correct thurl placement, taking nothing away from this great aged cow.
Congratulations."
