Judge's Comments - "Well ladies and gentlemen, it's been a long winter for most of us, but what a great way to start the show season. There's no snow on the ground and these heifers are looking great. I've singled out five heifers that all won their individual classes and were easy winners in their own right. They're all different and I made two groupings for you. In our first group, I have our senior calf, our summer yearling and our winter yearling. Then we have the junior yearling, the biggest in the show for her age and the senior yearling - another well grown-out heifer. I could go a couple different directions, but for me, I love the correctness, the style and balance and I'm going with our summer yearling. Today she's the one. She's striking - she never looks bad. For reserve, I'm going with our winter yearling and will choose the senior calf for honorable mention. These three heifers are what it's all about. They're not the biggest but they're so stylish and correct. They move well on their hind legs. Our summer yearling looks striking at all times. She's so balanced, so feminine and has great style. Our winter yearling has very little hair and is so correct. She's just a little more mature than our senior calf and I prefer the way her neck comes out of her shoulder over this beautiful senior calf."
